strange and unusual stuff.

My girlfriend is moving in down the street. It's a beautiful old victorian. Great house. There's only one thing. It's got a ghost!
The house needed a few little touches before she moved in, so last night I decided to get my paint-on and pretty up the place.  It was going to be a late night and I was going to be there all alone, so I took my dog, Bailey for re-enforcements. (she can whiff out bad juju a mile away!) My friend had told me about this ghost before. She said, "my clairvoyant told me there is de-fin-ate-ly a "spirit" that lives here. But, she said, it's a cool one!". My friend is a little nutty like me and open to strange and unusual things so I just went with it and thought it might be an interesting experience.
As soon as I got there I was a bit uneasy. The key to the front door wasn't working! Weird. I had just used this same key yesterday. I tried the back door. No luck! I tried the front door again. No problem, open sesame! Bailey was already a little spooked and we had only come in the front door! I quickly turned on all the lights and turned on the radio to the soft rock station (I mean who doesn't love the classic hits of the 70's, 80's and 90's, right?)Everything was going smooth. I was painting away singing to all the old hits. And then about a couple hours into it I heard a loud creaking noise coming from the kitchen. I looked at Bailey and she looked at me. And then another loud creak! My dogs ears pulled back and she jumped up and  I nearly fell of the ladder! I tried to settle Bailey but she wasn't buying it. I started to panic a bit but remembered those guys on the Ghost Hunters shows. They always talked to the Ghosts! So, I started a little conversation. "Are you there Ghostie? It's Me and Bailey." (My dog was looking at me cock-headed like I was a crazy-person.) I went on... "Look, Ghostie, just be cool! Give us a half hour more, no interuptions and we'll be out of your hair. Just BE COOL !!! Whaduya say?" And just then the song on the radio crackled and got real loud......

"DO YOU LIKE PINA~COLADAS?"

And that's when I knew that this Ghostie was a real "cool" one!

good, healthy stuff.

Ok. So... I may have gone overboard an eensy bit. In the spirit of getting rid of "stuff", I called the cable company to cancel our TV! I figure the "stuff" on TV is taking up way too much of my "space". Besides, I can get my important news(that's "E", Entertainment News..for inquiring minds) on my shiney new laptop!(good stuff) My husband is going to FREAK OUT when the cable guy shows up on Friday to collect the cable stuff! But I'm kinda excited. No more, "where's the *%@#clicker"?!..."I can't find the*#%@ clicker! "Gimmeee the *^#@& clicker!!! Now it's just gonna be us... getting back to the important stuff! (And a very pissed off hubby and tween-ager watching TV straight from the comfort on top of their laps!)

old stuff.

I got THE BEST GIFT for Christmas this year! A beautifully wrapped, red bow on top-box chock-full of my really old stuff"! My daughter found this box marked "Christine's Stuff" up in  her Grandpas attic. It was MY box full of "the stuff that dreams are made of"! She knew she had struck gold! But, downside is that she and her girlfriend had combed through every last ticket stub, crazy love letter, teenage angst-ridden poem and "what I wanna be when I grow up" list from the crazy 80's to basically take away any leg a mother has to stand on when disciplining her teenage daughter! But, it was worth it!!! It made me feel SO young again!(If only for a few hours sorting through the really old stuff) Were only as young as we feel, right?

Naughty stuff.

So, took our dog Bailey to the vet to get her check up...turns out, she's fat. We've had her on a little diet for the last 2 days and I think she had a major panic attack last night. She snuck and ate a whole bag of Christmas biscotti cookies! I think all this talk about getting rid of "stuff" has gotten to her.  Change is hard. She just did what any other red-blooded woman would do, panic and EAT!

Lost stuff.

It's true! The sock-eating monster is alive and I found him here at my house! His real name is "Mr. Throw your Money Away", or as I like to call him now that we are quite friendly, "Dusty" My House-Man!
Of all the irritating stuff, sorting socks and finding that you have more lost ones than matched ones is right up there!
One of the items on my "getting rid of stuff" New Years resolutions was to take on that ravenous monster and beat him at his own game. So, I tossed the whole damn box of stray socks! Take that mister sock-man and stick it up your...!!!(sorry, one of the other things on my New Years resolutions list was to watch my colorful language and...socks!)

"STUFF". The good, the bad and the ugly.

Funny thing about "stuff" is that a little or a lot, you always got it! Could be good, bad, helpful or distracting stuff. Bottom line is that we get it from the time we pop out till the time we sign out.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about all the "stuff" in my life. It even dawned on me to point out to all my "friends" that getting rid of "stuff" was my New Years resolution. It's amazing how fast people want more "stuff"! I decided to create this blog in my quest to help clear my mind, body(and hopefully my garage) of all the stuff clogging it up! So...here's to the good, the bad and the ugly stuff!
